Description
Design inspired by the XM-177 Moderator, this extended flash hider will extend a 12.5″ barrel to legal non-NFA length when pin and welded.
- CNC machined from bar steel
- Heat treated for strength
- Phosphate coated to protect from corrosion
- Threaded 1/2-28
- Bore sized for use on both 5.56mm and 9mm barrels
- 5 flash hiding ports, sealed bottom similar to an A2 flash hider
- 4.15″ over all length
- 1.0″ diameter
- Adds approximately 3.56″ to overall length of barrel when pinned and welded.
- .125″ hole pre-drilled for pin and weld

Need to shoot it a bit more but I was hoping for a poor man’s halbeck device / sasquatch sized flash hider, and it seems to do just that. I need to tweek the position, strongly recommend ordering a crush washer to go along with this.

Nice retro flash hider for my XM177E2 build. The finish looked a bit rough when I first received it. After emailing BFK, they replied the next day advising me to oil it, manganese phosphate finishes always look spotty/streaked. I oiled it and left it in a plastic baggie overnight and it looks much better. I’ll include before and after pictures for you, if you like. The price was great, as was the processing and shipping.
