The Gunner profile is a blend of two of the best performing profiles of all time, Gov’t and Pencil.
Proving that every once and awhile, the Government can do something right, the Gunner’s profile from the extension to the gas block mimics that well-known taper. From there, innovation takes over and the Gunner moves to a .625″ gas block journal and our famed pencil profile out front.
Removing the weight from the front of the barrel ensures maximum versatility and keeps material to the rear to maximize heat resistance and mitigate whip.
Faxon’s MATCH SERIES of barrels takes our renowned performance and value up a notch.
Manufactured 100% in-house from gun-barrel-quality bar-stock, the Match Series starts with 416-R in 5R rifling. 5R is a hybrid rifling, with lands opposite grooves and reduced sharp angles that reduces jacket deformation increasing velocity and easy cleaning. We chamber our Match Series in .223 Wylde, a hybrid chamber that the 5R rifling takes full advantage of. Better accuracy through less bullet jump, but fully and individually MPI tested for your safety. After rigorous testing, the barrels are Nitride treated inside and out, locking in the bore, improving barrel life, and keeping the elements at bay.
The extension is coated in Nickel Teflon which maintains incredible dry lubricity, corrosion resistance, and with the coating, tightens up fit between the extension and receiver – again improving upon accuracy. Combined, the Match Series of barrels are ready for when duty calls or the buzzer beeps with unrivaled performance value.

When I received the barrel I used my bore scope and found many issues with the inside. It looked like the coating was flaking off. Some people, as well as Faxton, said shooting the barrel 20-30 rounds and cleaning it after, would take care of the coating that was from the QPQ process. This is something I didn’t understand or know about with the QPQ process that it leaves a coating that would be too expensive to polish out. I talked with Faxton and they are sending me a new barrel that has been polished on the inside and should have no issues. My guess is everyone was right that I should have installed and shot it, cleaned it, and then looked at it with the bore scope. All in all, Faxton has been GREAT to work with. BKing was also awesome with how quick they shipped the barrel to me and at a fantastic price.
